| The stately family home that is now the
Dodge Hill Inn has been a landmark in Eastman, Georgia, for almost a
century. In 1912 N.W. Hurst, the town's first school superintendent, built
the lovely two-story house as a Christmas gift for his wife, Ethel. |

| In the 1920's, the Cooke family bought
the house and lived here through two generations. The last of the clan,
Edith Cooke, was a dedicated gardener and planted many flowering shrubs,
including over a hundred camellia bushes. |

In 1995, Don Dobbs bought the house for
his wife Ann, the present innkeeper. With the help of her cousin Helen,
"Miss Ann" looks after her guests with great care.
The Dodge Hill Inn is the only Bed and
Breakfast in Eastman. The azaleas and camellias that Edith Cooke planted
are still flourishing. Inside, the Inn is invitingly furnished with
antiques and comfortable chairs and sofas. Such accents as bisque
figurines, oil paintings, antique toys, and old glass and china complete the
serenity of the decor, inspired by the Edwardian era.
